If you want to have slender hands, you must engage all upper body to work, and the effect will be really fast. Do not be afraid of using weights (Girls! :-)).
 
By improving your back - you correct your posture and giving the adequate support for the spine (!!).
Visually - when you stand more streight you get your sportif definition.
