Each instructor has his method, for you it is important to reach your goal. Total training is the most effective. But remember to do it conscientiously in time and carefully (especially when we have an extra weights). To reach your goal you need to exceed your comfort barrier. If you want to lose weight, make cardio with timer (it will keep your tempo, just listen to it).
